- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. cold water
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 6 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- pinch of salt
- 3 egg whites at room temperature
- vanilla
Directions

1Use clean, dry utensils that are free of grease.

2Mix cornstarch with the 2 tablespoons cold water.

3Add the 1/2 cup boiling water and cook, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and is clear.

4Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool.

5With electric mixer at high speed, beat egg whites until stiff.

6With low speed, add the sugar, salt, cooled cornstarch mix.

7Return to high speed and beat well.

8Put on pie and bake at 350° until browned, 8 to 10 minutes.
