- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. water
- 3 egg whites (from large eggs)
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Combine cornstarch, sugar and water.

2Cook on medium heat, stirring all the time, until thick and clear.

3Cool.

4Beat egg whites with salt and vanilla until soft mounds form.

5Add sugar very gradually, beating well.

6Add cooled cornstarch mixture, then beat until stiff.

7Spread on lukewarm pie and bake in preheated oven at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
