Never Fail Pie Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 cup lard (Crisco)
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 5 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Sift flour and salt together.

    Cut lard into flour with two butter knives, or pastry utensil.

    Combine remaining ingredients and pour over flour slowly while mixing with a fork.

    Mix together until all is moistened.

    Make into 2 or 3 balls (depending on how thick you like your crust)

    Handle as little as possible and use a minimum of flour when rolling out.

    Bake at 425 degree for pre-baked crust.

    Makes 2 or 3 pie crusts or 2 crusts and lattice top for one pie.
