  • 1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks)
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. flavoring (lemon or vanilla or both)
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 c. milk (2/3 c. evaporated plus 1/3 c. water)
  • 3 c. cake flour (Swans Down)

Directions

    Cream butter, Crisco and sugar well.

    Add eggs, two at a time; beat well.

    Add flour and milk alternately.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

    Cool.
