Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 1/2 c. lukewarm milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c. cooking oil
  • 4 1/2 c. flour
  • melted butter or margarine
  • sugar and cinnamon (1 c. to 1 Tbsp.)

Directions

    Mix as for any bread dough.

    Let rise in covered bowl in warm place until double in bulk, about 1 hour.

    Roll out and cut with 2 1/2-inch cutter.

    Lay out on bread board.

    Brush with melted butter and let rise about 20 minutes.

    Heat oven to 425° and bake donuts about 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

    Remove from oven and brush again with melted butter.

    Shake in plastic bag with sugar and cinnamon.

    These are fine and no grease like fried ones.
