- 1 Tbsp. fat
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 average to large onion, minced
- 2 c. diced celery
- 5 to 6 oz. uncooked noodles
- 1 (No. 1) can tomatoes
- 3/4 c. shredded cheese
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 small can water chestnuts (optional)
Directions

1Brown the ground beef in the hot fat.

2Add onion and celery. Cook, stirring often, until opaque (approximately 10 minutes). Gently mix in the hot, drained noodles, cooked according to directions.

3Add tomatoes, cheese, salt, pepper and chestnuts. Let slowly simmer or put in greased 2-quart casserole and bake, covered, at 350° for 45 minutes.

4If baking in a casserole, shred more cheese over the top.
