  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
  • 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • salt to taste
  • cooked rice or noodles

Directions

    Combine 1/2 cup milk, bread crumbs, egg, onion and seasonings; let stand until crumbs absorb milk.

    Add meat; stir only until well blended.

    Shape into 1-inch meatballs.

    Brown on all sides in small amount of vegetable oil.

    Arrange meatballs in 2-quart casserole.
