- 1 cake yeast
- 3/4 c. lukewarm milk
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 c. flour
Directions

1Heat milk; add to shortening and salt.

2Mix all other ingredients together; mix well.

3Let rise 2 hours.

4Use your favorite nut recipe.

5Bake at 350° until brown.

6Before baking, beat 1 egg yolk and brush on bread.

7Prick with fork to let steam out.

8Instead of rolling like a jellyroll, fold the dough for a different effect.
