- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. margarine or butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. quick cooking rolled oats
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts or shelled sunflower seeds
- 6 oz. pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.

3In large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, margarine, vanilla and eggs.

4Beat at medium speed until well blended, about 1 to 2 minutes.

5By hand, stir rolled oats, nuts and chocolate chips.

6Drop by well rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets.

7Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

8Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.

9Makes 28 cookies.
