  • 4 c. canned applesauce
  • 1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    In a saucepan, combine applesauce, sugar, spices and butter. Bring to a boil and simmer uncovered over low heat for 2 hours or until thick and dark in color.

    Stir in nuts.

    Makes 3 cups.
