- 1 c. oatmeal
- 2 c. water
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 6 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Cook oatmeal in 2 cups water for a minute.

2Add molasses, salt, butter and sugar.

3Mix well and cool until lukewarm; add yeast that has been dissolved in 1/4 cup lukewarm water.

4Pour over flour.

5Mix well and knead.

6Cover and let rise until doubled.

7Knead and mold into 2 loaves.

8Let rise until doubled. Bake at 300° for 30 to 35 minutes.

9Brush crust with butter after you remove from pan.

10Cool and wrap airtight.

11Freezes good.
