Ingredients
- 2 c. boiling water
- 1 c. rolled oats
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. butter, softened
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
Directions

1In a large mixing bowl place 2 cups boiling water and 1 cup rolled oats.

2Let stand 1 hour.

3Add molasses, brown sugar, salt and butter.

4Put into small bowl the lukewarm water and yeast. When dissolved, add the oatmeal.

5Stir in flour.

6Beat well and let rise until double in bulk.

7Add enough flour to knead dough.

8Shape into loaves.

9Let rise until almost double in bulk.

10Bake 45 to 50 minutes at 350°.

11Makes 2 loaves.
