  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/8 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 to 6 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 c. quick-cooking rolled oats, uncooked

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Combine milk and cold water; heat.

    Pour hot liquid over butter, sugar and salt; stir until butter melts.

    Cool to lukewarm.

    Stir in 2 cups flour, dissolved yeast and oats.

    Stir in enough additional flour to make soft dough.
