Ingredients
- 1 c. quick oats
- 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 4 c. white flour
Directions

1Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.

2Pour 2 cups boiling water over this mixture.

3Stir water into mixture to combine ingredients.

4Dissolve yeast in warm water.

5When batter is cooled to lukewarm, add yeast.

6Stir in 4 cups flour.

7When dough is stiff enough to handle, turn onto floured board and knead 5 to 10 minutes, adding 1 more cup flour as you knead.

8Place in greased bowl.

9Cover and let rise until double.

10Punch down; shape into loaves and place in greased bread pans.

11Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.

12Brush with margarine for soft crust.
