- 2 c. rolled oats
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. lard
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 c. boiling water
- 2 pkg. yeast
- flour
Directions

1Put oats, sugar, lard and salt in a bread mixer.

2Pour over them the boiling water.

3Let cool.

4Add yeast and mix well.

5Add white flour, enough to make stiff ball.

6Turn until ball holds its shape, take 6 to 8 cups flour to start with.

7Add more if needed as dough is sticky after rising.

8Makes 3 loaves, 1 1/2 pounds each.
