- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 1 c. cold water
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 to 6 1/4 c. flour
- 2 c. oats, uncooked
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine milk and cold water and heat.

2Pour hot liquid over butter, sugar and salt.

3Stir until butter melts.

4Cool to lukewarm. Stir in 2 cups flour, dissolved yeast and oats.

5Stir in enough flour to make a soft dough. Turn out on lightly floured surface.

6Knead about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Shape to form ball.

7Place in greased bowl, turning to coat surface of dough. Cover and let rise in warm place about 1 hour until doubled in size.
