- 1 c. quick oats
- 1 1/4 c. boiling water
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix together oats and boiling water; set aside.

2Cream together the butter and sugars.

3Add eggs.

4Blend in dry ingredients and vanilla.

5Add oat mixture; blend well.

6Pour into nonstick sprayed 9 x 13-inch pan.

7Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes.

8While cake is still hot, spread topping on cake; allow to cool.

9Spread topping over cooled cake.
