  • 1 1/4 c. boiling water
  • 2 beaten egg whites
  • 1 c. oats
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 ??? butter
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Pour boiling water over oats.

    Let stand for 20 minutes. Cream the butter, brown sugar and sugar.

    Add egg whites and vanilla.

    Add oatmeal to creamed mixture, alternating with flour, soda and salt.

    Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° for 30 minutes. Spread topping on while hot.
