Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. water, 105-115 degrees
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/4 c. melted butter
  • 2 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar or possibly honey
  • 4 c. whole grain flour
  • 4 c. all purpose flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water for 3-5 min.

    Beat together egg, butter, hot water and sugar or possibly honey.

    Add in to yeast.

    Add in flour 1 c. at a time without sifting.

    Mix and knead till it is smooth and elastic and full of bubbles.

    Place dough in greased bowl, turn and cover with cloth.

    Let rise in hot place till doubled (1 hour).

    Punch down.

    Divide into 3 loaves.

    Place in pans.

    Let rise to double.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min.
