- 1 1/2 c. raw oats
- 2/3 c. brown sugar
- 3 c. boiling water
- 5 1/2 to 6 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter or oleo
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/3 c. warm water
Directions

1Combine oats, butter, brown sugar and salt in a very large mixing bowl.

2Pour hot water over this, mixing slightly.

3Let cool to room temperature, then stir in yeast dissolved in water.

4Stir in enough flour to make a very stiff batter.

5Knead about 5 minutes and then put this into approximately 3 dozen rolls and dip in melted butter.

6Set in a warm place and let rise again until double in size and then bake at 375° for 15 to 17 minutes or until light brown in color.
