Ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter, softened
- 8 slices toasted bread
- 1/3 c. raisins
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. evaporated milk
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 4 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Butter toasted bread.

3Cut toast into cubes and place into pan. Sprinkle raisins over toast.

4Thoroughly beat eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, milk, water and vanilla.

5Pour mixture over toast and let stand for 10 minutes.

6Combine remaining 4 teaspoons of sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over bread.

7Place dish into shallow baking pan.

8Pour hot water into pan to a depth of 1 inch.

9Bake 1 hour. Remove dish from water.

10Serve warm or chilled.
