  • 1 cup self rising corn meal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons bacon grease

Directions

    Put bacon grease into pan or cast iron skillet, melt in 425° oven.

    Tilt melted grease to cover bottom and sides.

    Mix together the corn meal, flour and sugar.

    Add eggs, milk and melted butter. Stir just until moist.

    Pour batter into greased pan or skillet. Bake until golden brown.
