- 3 lb. fresh pole beans
- 1 (1/2 lb.) ham hock
- 5 c. water
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Clean and remove strings from beans; cut beans into 2-inch pieces.

2Place ham hock in water in Dutch oven; bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 hour.

3Add beans, salt and pepper; continue cooking for 45 minutes or until tender.

4Yield: 10 to 12 servings.
