- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/8 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.

2Mix dry ingredients.

3Cut in shortening as for pie dough. Stir in buttermilk and yeast mixture.

4Blend thoroughly and knead lightly.

5Set at room temperature to rise.

6Roll out on floured board and cut out like biscuits.

7Place on greased pan and let rise.

8Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
