- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- flavoring (if desired)
- food coloring (if desired)
Directions

1Combine sugar, corn syrup, water and cream of tartar.

2Place over heat.

3Stir until sugar dissolves; cook without stirring to 265° on a candy thermometer.

4Remove from heat.

5Add coloring and flavoring if desired.

6Pour on greased platter or pie pan.

7Cool until easily handled.

8Pull into ropes until chalky and porous. Break or cut into bite size pieces.
