Old Fashioned Tea Cakes

  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

    Mix all ingredients together, except the flour. Add the 4 cups flour

    gradually to the mixture until the dough is the right consistency.

    in desired shapes. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes. Sprinkle sugar on top of each tea cake. Makes about 4 dozen.
