One Hour Buttermilk Rolls

- 2 yeast cakes
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 1/4 c. warm buttermilk
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add buttermilk, sugar and Crisco.

3Stir to melt Crisco.

4Sift in flour, soda and salt.

5Beat until smooth and let stand 10 minutes.

6Divide in half and roll out each half on slightly floured board fairly thin.

7Cut each circle into 12 pie-shaped wedges.

8Roll from wide end to point.
-
9Put in greased pans and let rise 30 minutes.

10Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.

11Makes 24 rolls.
