One Hour Buttermilk Rolls

- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1 1/2 c. lukewarm buttermilk
- 1/2 c. melted shortening
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Sprinkle yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water.

2Add buttermilk, shortening and sugar.

3Sift flour, soda and salt into mixture; beat until smooth.

4Let stand ten minutes.

5Roll out; shape as desired.

6Place in baking pan.

7Let rise for about 30 minutes in a warm place.

8Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until lightly brown. Yields 2 dozen rolls.
