- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water (110~)
- 1 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 4 1/2 cup flour
Directions

1Disslove yeast in warm water.

2Let sit while preparing other ingredients.

3Combine buttermilk, sugar, melted shortening, and salt.

4Mix yeast to buttermilk mixture and add soda.

5Stir in flour, one cup at a time until desired consistency.

6Let stand for 10 minutes.

7Pull off small egg size portions and roll into a ball.

8Place in oiled baking pan.

9Let stand 30-45 minutes in a warm draft free place until risen.

10Bake 425° for 10 to 12 minutes.
