- 3/4 c milk
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 pkg. onion soup mix
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 egg, beaten
- 4 c. unsifted white flour
Directions

1Scald milk.

2Stir in soup mix.

3Blend well. Stir in sugar and margarine.

4Mix until margarine melts.

5Cool to lukewarm. Sprinkle yeast over warm water.

6When dissolved, add yeast mixture, egg and 2 cups flour to the lukewarm milk mixture.

7Beat until smooth.

8Add remaining flour to make a stiff batter.

9Cover tightly and chill at least 2 hours.

10Cut dough in half.

11Flatten and press into 2 well-greased 9-inch round pans.

12Brush with melted margarine.

13Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled in size, about 45 minutes.

14Bake at 375° for about 35 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on racks.

15Brush again with melted margarine while still hot.
