- 1 large onion (Vidalia, if available)
- 1 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 egg, separated
- 2/3 c. water
- Crisco
Directions

1Separate onion into rings and place in ice water in refrigerator for 1 hour.

2Mix together flour, oil, egg and water in a bowl.

3Beat egg white until stiff.

4Fold egg white into flour mixture.

5Coat onion rings by dipping into mixture, then drop rings into hot Crisco.

6Fry until golden brown.

7Salt, if desired.
