- butter
- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 beaten egg white
Directions

1Cut rings and place in ice water (approximately 2 cups), that has been sweetened with a heaping tablespoon of sugar.

2Allow onions to soak in the refrigerator at least 2 hours before frying. Drain onions and dip in batter.

3Fry in deep, hot oil.

4Do not prepare batter until frying time.
