  • 2 or 3 medium onions, sliced and separated into rings
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 can Campbell's beef broth
  • 1 can water
  • Worcestershire sauce to taste
  • French bread, toasted in slow oven until hard
  • Swiss cheese

Directions

    Saute onions in margarine.

    Add beef broth, water and Worcestershire sauce.

    Simmer, covered, about 15 minutes.

    Put a slice of bread in each oven-proof bowl.

    Pour soup into bowls; cover with cheese.

    Bake in a 425° oven until cheese melts, 15 minutes.
