- 2 lb. onions
- 1/2 small head cabbage
- 4 Tbsp. oleo
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 cans beef broth (14 oz.)
- 1/4 c. dry sherry
- 4 (3/4-inch) slices Italian bread
- shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Slice onions and cabbage.

2Brown both in oleo.

3Cook until tender.

4Add flour, broth and sherry.

5Simmer.

6Slice bread in 3/4-inch slices.

7Toast slices in jelly roll pan at 450°.

8Place toast on soup in oven-safe bowls.

9Sprinkle cheese over bread. Place bowls on pan in 450° oven for 20 minutes.
