  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh orange rind
  • 1/3 cup chilled butter, cut into small pieces
  • 3/4 cup 1% low-fat milk
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • Butter-flavored cooking spray

    Preheat oven to 425°.

    Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine flour and next 4 ingredients in a large bowl; cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add milk and juice; stir with a fork just until moist.

    Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead 7 times. Pat dough to a 3/4-inch thickness; cut with a 1 3/4-inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray; coat tops of biscuits with cooking spray.

    Bake at 425° for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on pan 5 minutes. Spread about 2 teaspoons glaze over each biscuit. Serve warm.
