- 1 1/2 c. oleo or butter, softened
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. almond extract
Directions

1Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed with an electric beater until light and fluffy (4 to 5 minutes). Sift flour, cream of tartar, baking powder and salt together.

2Add dry mixture alternately with milk and orange juice, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

3Mix just to blend after each addition.

4Stir in orange rind and flavorings.

5Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

6Preheat oven to 325°.

7Bake 1 hour and 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted comes out clean.

8Cool cake in pan.

9Remove cake from pan to a wire rack and cool completely.
