- 1 cup butter, room temperature (2 sticks of butter)
- 1 12 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 12 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 12 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons grated orange zest
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 12 cup chopped pecans
- 12 cup chopped dates
Directions

1Grease a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan; dust with flour.

2In a large bowl, beat butter.

3Add sugar gradually, beating until light and fluffy.

4Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

5In a separate bowl, stir together flour and baking powder.

6Gradually beat flour mixture into the butter and egg mixture just until blended.

7Stir in orange zest and orange juice; fold in pecans and dates.

8Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.

9Bake at 350* degrees for 45 to 55 minutes, or until cake testes done.

10Cool in pan on a rack; remove from pan to rack to cool completely.
