  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in buttermilk
  • 1 can Angel Flake coconut
  • 3 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1 box dates (1/2 lb.), cut small
  • 1 large bag orange slice candy (1 lb.), cut small
  • 2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cream margarine and sugar; add eggs, one at a time.

    Add flour alternately with milk.

    Roll nuts, candy and dates in flour.

    Add coconut, then add to batter.

    Cook in tube pan at 250° for 2 1/2 hours.
