  • 4 eggs
  • 4 c. flour (plain)
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. nuts
  • 1 box chopped dates
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 can coconut
  • 1 lb. orange slice candy

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add buttermilk (1/2 cup) with teaspoon of soda; set aside.

    Mix nuts, dates and candy in the flour.

    Add eggs, one at a time, with 1 cup of buttermilk.

    Now, add all ingredients and mix well.

    Pour in tube pan and cook 50 to 60 minutes at 325° until done.

    When done, pour filling over cake.
