Ingredients: 1 c. oleo; 2 c. sugar; 4 eggs; 1 tsp. soda (add to buttermilk); 1/2 c. buttermilk; 3 1/2 c. plain flour; 1 lb. chopped dates; 1 lb. orange slices, cut into small pieces; 1 small can Angel Flake coconut; 2 c. chopped pecans

Cream butter and add sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Mix flour, dates,

orange slices, coconut and nuts. Add half of flour and fruit mixture to the creamed mixture with buttermilk. Blend remaining half of flour mixture and fruit mixture. Bake in a well-greased and floured tube pan at 300° for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
