Orange Sponge Cake

Ingredients
- 2 1/4 c. cake flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 4 unbeaten egg yolks
- juice of fresh oranges and water to make 1 c.
- a little grated orange rind
- 8 egg whites
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Sift together flour, sugar and baking powder.

2Make a well and add oil, egg yolks, liquid and orange rind.

3Beat egg whites, cream of tartar and salt until whites are stiff.

4Fold into preceding mixture.

5Bake in a tube pan or Bundt pan which has been greased and floured.

6Bake at 325° for 55 minutes.

7Turn oven to 350° and bake 10 minutes more.

8Cool before icing.
