  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 stick oleo
  • 1 c. raw rice
  • 1 c. beef consomme
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1 level tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. red pepper
  • 1 tsp. oregano

Directions

    Cook onion and raw rice in the oleo over a medium flame for 5 minutes (do not brown).

    Add all other ingredients.

    Pour into a casserole; cover tightly and bake for 45 minutes to an hour at 350°.

    Serve with ham, fried chicken or steak.
