  • 2 to 3 lb. fryer
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. shortening

    Preheat oven to 425°.

    Cut chicken into pieces.

    Mix flour, salt, paprika and pepper.

    Coat chicken with flour mixture.

    Heat butter and Crisco in oblong pan in 425° oven until melted.

    Place coated chicken (skin side down) in pan.

    Cook uncovered 30 minutes.

    Turn chicken over.

    Cook uncovered about 30 minutes longer.
