  • 2 lb. stew meat (on lean side)
  • 1 (No. 2) can diced carrots
  • 1 (No. 2) can small onions
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes (whole)
  • 1 (No. 2) can tiny peas
  • 1 (No. 2) can small green beans (not French)
  • 1/2 can beef consomme
  • 4 Tbsp. tapioca
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. prepared bread crumbs
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 c. white wine
  • 1 tsp. salt and pepper
