  • 4 c. water
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 cake compressed yeast or 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 12 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 4 well-beaten eggs

    Boil the water and sugar for five minutes, cool and add the rest of ingredients.

    3:00 P.M. and let rise until 5:00 P.M.

    Knead down and let rise at least 2 times.

    Form into buns and place in pans at 9:30 P.M. or later.

    Keep in a cool place overnight.

    Bake in the morning in a 350° oven for about 20 minutes.
