Overnight Salad

Ingredients

  • 1/2 to 1 head lettuce, broken up
  • 1 c. water chestnuts, cut up
  • 1/2 pkg. frozen peas (unthawed)
  • 1 small onion (in rings)
  • 1 to 2 celery stalks, cut in pieces
  • green pepper strips (small)
  • 1 small can shrimp (optional)
  • 1 1/3 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • shredded Cheddar or American cheese

Directions

    Place lettuce on bottom of bowl.

    Mix next 6 ingredients; place on lettuce.

    Spread mayonnaise over top.

    Sprinkle with sugar and then the cheese.

    Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

    Top with Bac*Os or crisp bacon bits.
