Ingredients
- 16 slices of bread cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
- 10 eggs
- 4 c. milk
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 c. melted butter (optional)
Directions

1Put bread cubes in bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle cheese on top.

2Beat eggs, milk and spices together and pour on top of cheese. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

3Just before baking, crumble bacon on top, then if desired pour melted butter over all.

4Place casserole pan into larger pan of warm water.

5Cook in 325° oven 1 hour 15 minutes.

6Until knife inserted comes out clean.

7Serves 10 to 12.
