  • 12 pieces bread
  • 12 frying oysters
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 Tbsp. sherry wine
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 2 c. crumbled potato chips
  • 5 strips bacon
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 c. combined oyster liquid and milk
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic salt

    Spread butter on bread.

    Place in a 250° oven until hard (not brown).

    Grease flat baking dish with bacon fat.

    Crush bread; place about 2/3 on bottom of dish.

    Make a layer of oysters on top of crumbs.

    Place onion rings on top of oysters.

    Cover with remaining crumbs.

    Take oyster liquid and add milk to make 1 1/2 cups.

    Add Worcestershire sauce, wine, salt, pepper and garlic salt; stir well.

    Pour over bread just to moisten.

    Sprinkle cheese on top.

    Cut bacon in 1-inch strips.

    Place on cheese. Bake at 325° for 40 minutes and under broiler for 3 minutes.
