  • 2 cups rice
  • 5 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon tomatoe paste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch thyme

Directions

    Heat the oil in a heavy saucepan.

    Add the rice and onion and saute, stirring, until golden.

    Add the tomato paste, thyme and paprika and mix well.

    Pour in 2 cups of water and season.

    Add the bay leaf and let boil for about 20 minutes, until rice is done.
