- 2 cups rice
- 5 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 teaspoon tomatoe paste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 pinch thyme
Directions

1Heat the oil in a heavy saucepan.

2Add the rice and onion and saute, stirring, until golden.

3Add the tomato paste, thyme and paprika and mix well.

4Pour in 2 cups of water and season.

5Add the bay leaf and let boil for about 20 minutes, until rice is done.
