Ingredients
- 4 c. fresh broccoli flowerets
- 4 c. fresh cauliflowerets
- 1 large, sweet onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. basil leaves
- 2 c. mayonnaise
- 1 lb. bacon, crisp and crumbled
- 1 large head lettuce, cut in bite size pieces
- 2 c. seasoned croutons
- 8 oz. can water chestnuts, drained
Directions

1In a large bowl, break broccoli and cauliflower into bite size pieces.

2Combine with onion.

3In small bowl, combine sugar, cheese, salt, basil and mayonnaise.

4Mix well.

5Toss veggies and dressing.

6Refrigerate several hours or overnight.

7Just before serving, add bacon, lettuce, croutons and water chestnuts.

8Toss lightly.

9Makes 20 to 24 servings (210 calories).
